Introduction

My name is Monica Sharee Johnson. I am the director and founder of Generation for Creation, a 501 c 3 not-for-profit organization. We have several other volunteers that assist with the children. We also have board members: Mary Glass, Tina Anderson, Melbra Simmons, Maxine Drake, Charles Spencer, Jr, Paula Williams, Gary Thomas and Harold Yokely.

I teach children ages 7-17 how to perform in front of a live audience, video tape training, experience press and newspaper coverage, vocal training with tape recording, memorization skill, stage techniques, and theatrical history. My classes are a step in the right direction for children who are interested in developing their competition skills which give them the confidence and encouragement to go on to more professional levels in the visual and performing arts categories.

Here are a few of my first students and where they are now:

David Brown, 14 years old of Woodbury, TN, concentration is voice.
Since David attended my program he has auditioned for the American Idol,VHS-1 and won one competition in the 3rd Annual Children’s Benefit Talent Show sponsored by Generation for Creation.

Keosha Henny Lusk, 14 years old of Murfreesboro, TN, concentration is modeling and acting.
Keosha has participated in several plays since she started working with me seven years ago. Keosha’s first television debut was on the PBS television show, ZOOM. The taping took place at Cason Lane Academy where she was then a student. Keosha has been working with a Talent and Modeling Agency where she has opportunities to make money for commercials, modeling assignments and audition for movies. Since then, she placed first place in the Miss Tennessee Sunbelt Modeling Competition winning also Best Hair. She had the opportunity to compete on a national level in Atlanta, GA.

Mary Grace Williams, 9 years old of Murfreesboro, TN, concentration is voice.
Mary Grace auditioned for the 1st and 4th Annual Children’s Benefit Talent Show. She placed 3rd in the 4th annual Children’s Benefit Talent Show. Meanwhile, she has auditioned on a national level for commercials and modeling assignments. Mary Grace sings at various festivals all over Tennessee throughout the year. She has been told she is the next and up and coming Shania Twain.

We have wonderful professionals who also are available to give the children guidance such as a local talent scouts and recording producer, Lorenzo Spikes who has worked with Brittany Spears and the Backstreet Boys and other professional celebrities.

Professional Celebrities who also have worked directly with Generation for Creation:

Lynnette Cole, a Miss USA and actress, is the hostess/mistress of ceremonies for our Children’s Benefit Talent Shows.

Chris Young, the winner of 2006 Nashville Star opened our 1st Talent Show as a special guest and we have been friends since. Greg Sterling, a Nashville country music singer and Angela Bennett, a singer for the Bobby Jones Gospel Choir were judges for the Talent Shows.
