Before taking a much needed break from the friendly skies, Lynnette Cole had been splitting her weeks in New York and Nashville hosting such shows as "The Weekend Vibe" for NBC and CMT "Ultimate Country Home". Lynnette has also been the host for various shows on ESPN entitled " The Life ", MTV, VH-1, and " Whips " for the Source All Access on NBC and making appearances on "As the World Turns". Along with her hosting and career she also has appeared in numerous print ads and commercials.
Recently Lynnette opened "La'Rue Beauty" a specialty beauty boutique in Cool Springs as well as created her own company Lynnette Cole & Company to produce the Miss Southern Tennessee pageant, Miss Southern Tennessee Teen pageant and Southern Tennessee Children pageants. The pageants strive to empower the young women of today by encouraging the key elements of competition: Preparation, Discipline, and Focus, the mere fundamentals for achieving excellence in life.
High on her list of accomplishments is winning the Miss USA 2000 title, allowing her the opportunity to forever become apart of pageant history as the first woman from Tennessee to be crowned MISS USA. As her causes and platform, she championed for breast and ovarian cancer as well as advocated for today's youth, bringing awareness to the great need of foster care and adoption within our Nation.
Born in Michigan and adopted by Gail and Larry Cole. Lynnette was raised in Columbia, Tennessee along with 127 children who grew up in the Cole household, which became a foster home for needy children for 15 years. Larry Cole, psychotherapist, and Gail Cole, a full-time mom, have raised Lynnette to always put God first in all that she does and everything will fall into place according to His plan.
For two years, Lynnette held a staff position in Washington, DC for the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute. The adoption coalition institute works to reform adoption laws and is chaired by a bi-partisan committee of senators and various state representatives.
Lynnette is involved in various events throughout the country, but always takes special notice to those involving children, particularly foster care and adoption as they are both dear to her heart. She is even listed on Adoption-Celebrity.com among famous adopted people.
